Swedish-Icelandic Elinrós Henriksdotter is a painter, musician, poet and writer based somewhere between London, Uganda, Scandinavia and USA. Her artistic focus is set on exploring the power and possibilities of the female body in a loose and experimental visual language. With roots in classical music, street creativity, spiritual curiosity, electronic avant-garde and traditional arts training, Elinrós extends herself fearlessly and passionately throughout the creative spectrum.
A rejuvenized excitement for raw expression has positioned Henriksdotter close to the primal scream of unedited existence. In the autumn of 2012 Henriksdotter is working on drawings, paintings, poetry and her debut novel “Queen of Her Universe”. It is an autobiography focused on her history of child abuse and how painting, meditation and self-induced trance helped her to revive the denied truth about her past, and in a broader sense about how meditation and creative expression can define and release old pain and heal us from within.
Elinrós Henriksdotter also runs an online art publication, founded by the artist herself in Sept 2011. http://contemporarytalks.com/
